HID-D2S Bulbs

HID-D2S bulbs are the most widely
used HID bulbs. Virtually every auto
manufacturer has used D2S bulbs if they
have designed a vehicle with HID
Headlights.

D2S bulbs are primarily used in vehicles
with projector lenses. However, just
because you have projector lenses, its
does not mean that you have HID
Headlights. Recently, auto manufactures
have been using H1, H7, 9005, and H11
Halogen bulbs in projector headlight
lenses. Therefore, if you are not sure,
you should check your owner's manual to
determine what kind of bulb your
headlights use.

Examples of NON-HID projectors
Acura, BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz
all manufacture vehicles with projector
lenses and "optional HID headlights."
When Not equipped with the HID option,
these vehicles use standard Halogen /
filament based bulbs. When the option
is missed at the factory, Acura tends to
use H1, BMW H7, Lexus H11, and
Mercedes-Benze H7. Again, if your
vehicle does not already use a D2S bulb,
it will not fit the bulb socket of your vehicle
or the plugging mechanisms.
